Hello everyone! How are you all?
December is upon us, and so comes the festive season! I don’t plan to do blogmas as such, but I do want to post regularly with various bookish, foody and lifestyle blogs, with some merry content too.
I have just finished uni for the year. I am really pleased with my results. I put a lot of time, energy and effort into my assessments, so am proud of the outcome. My family and I went away to the beach for a couple of weeks after I handed in my last assessments. It was so nice to relax and be lazy!
I have three more subjects left of my degree, so getting close now! I study part-time (two subjects/semester). As tempting as it is to do the three subjects in one semester to finish it off, I know that I need to be sensible and listen to my body and acknowledge three will be too many. At the same time, I love studying and this degree, so I know I will enjoy the time spent doing it.
I still have a lot to think about regarding what I do after I graduate. I’m keen to do a masters in writing, but need to decide if this is a sensible, productive and financially viable option. I also would like to work in some sort of capacity, so perhaps I’ll try that first, and the masters might come down the track. Either way, I need (and want!) to have some of my work published, so that definitely needs to become a priority.
What are you currently reading? I’m slowly making my way through Bone China by Laura Purcell. I loved The Corset by Laura, and I’m enjoying her latest book. I am also listening to The Toll by Neal Shusterman, which is the third book in the Arc of a Scythe series. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books and was excited for the release of this third one. I’m finding it a little confusing at times, perhaps too complicated a plot, but it is so interesting and unique, and I’m keen to keep reading. I’m also about to start another buddy read with Stephen from Stephen Writes, which I am excited to get to!
My writing is going reasonably well. Because I’ve had to really polish what I’ve written for my novel for assessments this year, I only have 12, 000 words at the moment. However, now that I have relaxed after assessment season, I’m excited to get back to it, and also write some more short pieces. For those who write, how is your WIP going? What are you working on?
I’ve missed chatting and posting – life and blog technologically issues got in my way, but here we go! I’d love to hear from you and find out what you’ve been up to and what your December plans are. And if you’re doing blogmas or something similar, let me know – I’d love to check it out!
Here’s to a happy December!
I’m reading C.S. Lewis’ “Surprised By Joy” at the moment Gem. It’s a wonderful autobiography, exploring Lewis’ early life and his coming to faith.
Good to see you back and blogging.

Hi Dean! I’m sorry for my slow reply. Have you finished Surprised By Joy now? It sounds great. I’d be interested to hear what you think and I might check it out 🙂 Happy New Year! x
